Luigi is currently undertaking his Bachelor of Music in Voice at the Melba Conservatorium of Music. Whilst beginning in the Australian Youth Choir and Victoria State Children’s Choir at age seven, he’s continued to train extensively in all mediums of performing arts through which his versatility as a performer has become widely apparent.
His numerous music theatre credits include lead roles in ‘West Side Story’, ‘Oklahoma!’. ‘Guys & Dolls’, ‘Bye Bye Birdie’, ‘Anything Goes’; not to mention countless biannual galas with the Young Australian Broadway Chorus.
Television appearances include Neighbours, Blue Heelers, RVIB Carols by Candlelight and the Channel 7 Good Friday Appeal.
Luigi also honed his comedy skills out on the ‘Class Clowns’ Competition for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and achieved a place in the National Grand Final two years consecutively.
In October 2004 Luigi was fortunate enough to acquire the lead role of ‘Brundibar’ in the Hans Krasa’s ‘Brundibar’ for Opera Australia’s OzOpera; performing a season at the Melbourne Opera Centre under the baton of Richard Gill. Other professional opera credits denote the world premiere of ‘Trilby’ with the Australian Youth Opera, playing the role of ‘Gecko’ (a lovesick young bohemian tenor!).
As a dancer Luigi has notched up numerous credits at galas, reviews and corporate functions and more recently extensive work with the newly formed Melbourne contemporary dance company ‘Running Man’.
Earlier this year Luigi joined the cast of Anthony Crowley’s ‘The Wild Blue’ which was performed for the VCE Drama Analysis season at St.Martin’s Youth Arts Centre; in which he claims to be his most inspiring and interesting performing experience to date.
An accomplished musician and songwriter Luigi has worked with numerous Melbourne band outfits, namely as lead singer for ‘Adoona’ and various other solo ventures. By day he works as a private singing teacher in Classical and Contemporary styles. Now working with Tony Bones Entertainment children’s parties he relishes the chance to let his “inner-child” out in a performing venture!
