Melinda has great passion for teaching and entertaining children. She is currently employed as a Primary school classroom teacher. In addition to classroom teaching, she has 6 years experience teaching swimming, has coached junior hockey and has experience teaching brass instruments. She has had further childcare and management experience as a nanny, babysitter, kindergarten assistant (Select Education), Out of School Hours Care Coordinator (Camp Australia), Swim School Coordinator and Holiday Program Coordinator (Genazzano FCJ College). This broad range of experience has provided Melinda with an essential understanding of the needs and desires of children of all ages. She also has developed an awareness of expected personal stages of development and safety measures involved in child care.
Under supervision of Mr. William Bamford, Melinda studies classical voice and is currently preparing for a Grade 8 AMEB Examination. She has been seen in Gilbert and Sullivan’s’, “The Merry Widow”, “Pirates of Penzance”, “Patience” and also in productions of “The Boyfriend” and “Oklahoma”. She has also participated in the “Crown Christmas Choir”, Channel 9's “Carols By Candlelight Choir”, and at numerous private functions and performances across Melbourne. In 2005, Melinda was involved in the Melbourne Comedy Festival Royal Gala opening, where she sang as part of the ACU Campus Choir, backing Paul McDermott and his band. Melinda regularly performs with ‘Artist Proof’, a Melbourne-based melodic rock band, where she accompanies with voice, piano and trumpet and performed successfully at several Voice Eisteddfods around Victoria. Melinda is also a keen French horn and Trumpet player at a high standard. She has performed in numerous orchestras, bands and as a soloist up to a state level.
With such passion and experience in the field of both teaching and performing, Melinda is pleased to become part of the Tony Bones team.
